وَالْأَرْضَ وَضَعَهَا لِلْأَنَامِ

It is He Who has spread out the earth for (His) creatures:

Tafsir Ibn Kathir
Allah said,
وَالْأَرْضَ وَضَعَهَا لِلْأَنَامِ ﴿١٠﴾
And the earth He has put down (laid) for Al-Ana'm.
Allah raised the heavens and put down, or laid, the earth and balanced it with firm mountains, so that it would be stable for its residents that live on it, i.e. the various types and kinds of creatures, different in species, shape, color and language.
Ibn Abbas, Mujahid, Qatadah and Ibn Zayd said that Al-An'am means the creatures.
تفسير ابن كثير
أي كما رفع السماء وضع الأرض ومهدها وأرساها بالجبال الراسيات الشامخات لتستقر لما على وجهها من الأنام وهم الخلائق المختلفة أنواعهم وأشكالهم وألوانهم وألسنتهم في سائر أقطارها وأرجائها قال ابن عباس ومجاهد وقتادة وابن زيد : الأنام الخلق .
تفسير الجلالين
"والأرض وضعها" أثبتها "للأنام" للخلق الإنس والجن وغيرهم
تفسير القرطبي
الأنام الناس , عن ابن عباس . الحسن : الجن والإنس . الضحاك : كل ما دب على وجه الأرض , وهذا عام .
إعراب — grammatical analysis
«وَالْأَرْضَ» مفعول به لفعل محذوف يفسره المذكور والجملة المقدرة معطوفة على ما قبلها «وَضَعَها» ماض ومفعوله والفاعل مستتر «لِلْأَنامِ» متعلقان بالفعل والجملة تفسيرية لا محل لها.
