إِنَّا مُرْسِلُو النَّاقَةِ فِتْنَةً لَّهُمْ فَارْتَقِبْهُمْ وَاصْطَبِرْ
Inna mursiloo alnnaqati fitnatan lahum fairtaqibhum waistabir

For We will send the she-camel by way of trial for them. So watch them, (O Salih), and possess thyself in patience!

Tafsir Ibn Kathir
إِنَّا مُرْسِلُو النَّاقَةِ فِتْنَةً لَّهُمْ ...
Verily, We are sending the she-camel as a test for them.
To test and try the people of Thamud, Allah sent to them a superb, pregnant female camel that emerged from solid rock, according to their request, so that it would become a proof against them from Allah, the Exalted. Thereafter, they were supposed to believe in what was brought to them by Salih, peace be upon him.
Allah ordered His servant and Messenger Salih,
... فَارْتَقِبْهُمْ وَاصْطَبِرْ ﴿٢٧﴾
So watch them, and be patient!
Allah commanded, `await, O Salih, and see what will become of them and be patient; verily the better end will be yours and you will have success in this life and the Hereafter,'
تفسير ابن كثير
قال تعالى " إنا مرسلو الناقة فتنة لهم " أي اختبارا لهم أخرج الله تعالى لهم ناقة عظيمة عشراء من صخرة صماء طبق ما سألوا لتكون حجة الله عليهم في تصديق صالح عليه السلام فيما جاءهم به ثم قال تعالى آمرا لعبده ورسوله صالح " فارتقبهم واصطبر " أي انتظر ما يؤول إليه أمرهم واصبر عليهم فإن العاقبة لك والنصر في الدنيا والآخرة.
تفسير الجلالين
"إنا مرسلو الناقة" مخرجوها من الهضبة الصخرة كما سألوا "فتنة" محنة "لهم" لنختبرهم "فارتقبهم" يا صالح أي انتظر ما هم صانعون وما يصنع بهم "واصطبر" الطاء بدل من تاء الافتعال أي اصبر على أذاهم
تفسير القرطبي
أي مخرجوها من الهضبة التي سألوها , فروي أن صالحا صلى ركعتين ودعا فانصدعت الصخرة التي عينوها عن سنامها , فخرجت ناقة عشراء وبراء .
إعراب — grammatical analysis
«إِنَّا مُرْسِلُوا» إن واسمها وخبرها المرفوع بالواو وحذفت النون للإضافة «النَّاقَةِ» مضاف إليه «فِتْنَةً» مفعول لأجله «لَهُمْ» متعلقان بفتنة ، «فَارْتَقِبْهُمْ» الفاء الفصيحة وأمر ومفعوله والفاعل مستتر والجملة جواب شرط مقدر لا محل لها «وَاصْطَبِرْ» معطوف على ارتقبهم والجملة الاسمية مقول القول أيضا
