Flee not, but return to the good things of this life which were given you, and to your homes in order that ye may be called to account.

Tafsir Ibn Kathir
لَا تَرْكُضُوا وَارْجِعُوا إِلَى مَا أُتْرِفْتُمْ فِيهِ وَمَسَاكِنِكُمْ ...
Flee not, but return to that wherein you lived a luxurious life, and to your homes,
This is a way of ridiculing them.
It will be said to them by way of ridicule: "Do not run away from the coming torment; go back to the delights and luxuries and fine homes in which you were living.''
Qatadah said,
"Mocking them.''
... لَعَلَّكُمْ تُسْأَلُونَ ﴿١٣﴾
in order that you may be questioned.
about whether you gave thanks for what you had.
تفسير ابن كثير
" لا تركضوا وارجعوا إلى ما أترفتم فيه ومساكنكم " هذا تهكم بهم نزرا أي قيل لهم نزرا لا تركضوا هاربين من نزول العذاب وارجعوا إلى ما كنتم فيه من النعمة والسرور والمعيشة والمساكن الطيبة قال قتادة استهزاء بهم " لعلكم تسألون " أي عما كنتم فيه من أداء شكر النعم .
تفسير الجلالين
فقالت لهم الملائكة استهزاء "لا تركضوا وارجعوا إلى ما أترفتم" نعمتم "فيه ومساكنكم لعلكم تسألون" شيئا من دنياكم على العادة
تفسير القرطبي
أي لا تفروا . وقيل : إن الملائكة نادتهم لما انهزموا استهزاء بهم وقالت : " لا تركضوا "
