فَمَا أَغْنَى عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُواْ يَكْسِبُونَ
Fama aghna AAanhum ma kanoo yaksiboona

ENTafsir Ibn Kathir
فَمَا أَغْنَى عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُواْ يَكْسِبُونَ ﴿٨٤﴾
And all that they used to earn availed them not.
meaning all of the benefits that they used to gain from their crops and fruits, and the water which they did not want to share with the she-camel that they killed so that it would not reduce their share of the water - all of that wealth would not protect them or help them when the command of their Lord came to pass.

فما أغنى عنهم ما كانوا يكسبون " أي ما كانوا يستغلونه من زروعهم وثمارهم التي ضنوا بمائها عن الناقة حتى عقروها لئلا تضيق عليهم في المياه فما دفعت عنهم تلك الأموال ولا نفعتهم لما جاء أمر ربك .

"فما أغنى" دفع "عنهم" العذاب "ما كانوا يكسبون" من بناء الحصون وجمع الأموال

ARإعراب — grammatical analysis
«فَما» الفاء استئنافية ما نافية.
«أَغْنى » ماض مبنى على الفتح المقدر على الألف للتعذر.
«عَنْهُمْ» متعلقان بأغنى.
«ما» اسم موصول في محل رفع فاعل والجملة مستأنفة.
«كانُوا» كان واسمها والجملة صلة لا محل لها من الإعراب.
«يَكْسِبُونَ» مضارع مرفوع بثبوت النون والواو فاعل والجملة خبر كانوا.
