ENTafsir Ibn Kathir
The Reason why the Angels came
Allah tells:
قَالَ فَمَا خَطْبُكُمْ أَيُّهَا الْمُرْسَلُونَ ﴿٥٧﴾
He said: "What then is the business for which you have come, O messengers!''
Allah tells us that after Ibrahim had calmed down from the excitement of this good news, he started to ask them why they had come to him.

يقول تعالى إخبارا عن إبراهيم عليه السلام لما ذهب عنه الروع وجاءته البشرى إنه شرع يسألهم عما جاءوا له .

لما علم أنهم ملائكة - إذ أخبروه بأمر خارق للعادة وهو بشراهم بالولد - قال : فما خطبكم ؟ والخطب الأمر الخطير . أي فما أمركم وشأنكم وما الذي جئتم به .
ARإعراب — grammatical analysis
«قالَ» ماض فاعله مستتر والجملة مستأنفة.
«فَما» الفاء زائدة وما اسم استفهام مبتدأ.
«خَطْبُكُمْ» خبر والكاف مضاف إليه والجملة مقول القولز
«أَيُّهَا» أي منادى نكرة مقصودة مبني على الضم في محل نصب وأداة النداء محذوفة والهاء للتنبيه.
«الْمُرْسَلُونَ» بدل من أي أو عطف بيان مرفوع بالواو لأنه جمع مذكر سالم.
