ENTafsir Ibn Kathir
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ ...
Verily, those who believe and do righteous good deeds,
He says that they are the best of creation.
... أُوْلَئِكَ هُمْ خَيْرُ الْبَرِيَّةِ ﴿٧﴾
they are the best of creatures.
Abu Hurayrah and a group of the scholars have used this Ayah as a proof that the believers have a status among the creatures that is better than the angels. This is because Allah says,أُوْلَئِكَ هُمْ خَيْرُ الْبَرِيَّةِ (They are the best of creatures).

ثم أخبر تعالى عن الأبرار الذين آمنوا بقلوبهم وعملوا الصالحات بأبدانهم بأنهم خير البرية وقد استدل بهذه الآية أبو هريرة وطائفة من العلماء على تفضيل المؤمنين من البرية على الملائكة لقوله " أولئك هم خير البرية" .

وكذا " خير البرية " : إما على التعميم , أو خير برية عصرهم . وقد استدل بقراءة الهمز من فضل بني آدم على الملائكة , وقد مضى في سورة " البقرة " القول فيه . وقال أبو هريرة رضي الله عنه : المؤمن أكرم على الله عز وجل من بعض الملائكة الذين عنده .

«إِنَّ الَّذِينَ» إن واسمها «آمَنُوا» ماض وفاعله والجملة صلة «وَعَمِلُوا» معطوف على آمنوا «الصَّالِحاتِ» مفعول به «أُولئِكَ» مبتدأ «هُمْ» ضمير فصل «خَيْرُ الْبَرِيَّةِ» خبر المبتدأ مضاف إلى البرية والجملة الاسمية خبر إن وجملة إن الذين .. مستأنفة لا محل لها.
