فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ يَوْمَ يَدْعُ الدَّاعِ إِلَى شَيْءٍ نُّكُرٍ
Fatawalla AAanhum yawma yadAAu alddaAAi ila shayin nukurin

Therefore, (O Prophet,) turn away from them. The Day that the Caller will call (them) to a terrible affair,

Tafsir Ibn Kathir
The terrible End the Disbelievers will meet on the Day of Resurrection
Allah the Exalted says,
فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ ...
So withdraw from them.
Allah the Exalted says, `O Muhammad, turn away from these people who, when they witness a miracle, they deny it and say that this is continuous magic.' Turn away from them and wait until,
... يَوْمَ يَدْعُ الدَّاعِ إِلَى شَيْءٍ نُّكُرٍ ﴿٦﴾
The Day that the caller will call (them) to a terrible thing.
to the Recompense and the afflictions, horrors and tremendous hardships that it brings forth,
تفسير ابن كثير
يقول تعالى فتول يا محمد عن هؤلاء الذين إذا رأوا آية يعرضوا ويقولوا هذا سحر مستمر أعرض عنهم وانتظرهم " يوم يدع الداع إلى شيء نكر " أي إلى شيء منكر فظيع وهو موقف الحساب وما فيه من البلاء والزلازل والأهوال .
تفسير الجلالين
"فتول عنهم" هو فائدة ما قبله وتم به الكلام "يوم يدع الداعي" هو إسرافيل وناصب يوم يخرجون بعد "إلى شيء نكر" بضم الكاف وسكونها أي منكر تنكره النفوس وهو الحساب
تفسير القرطبي
أي أعرض عنهم . قيل : هذا منسوخ بآية السيف . وقيل : هو تمام الكلام .
إعراب — grammatical analysis
«فَتَوَلَّ» الفاء الفصيحة وأمر مبني على حذف حرف العلة والفاعل مستتر «عَنْهُمْ» متعلقان بالفعل والجملة جواب شرط غير جازم لا محل لها «يَوْمَ» ظرف زمان «يَدْعُ الدَّاعِ» مضارع وفاعله والجملة في محل جر بالإضافة «إِلى شَيْ ءٍ» متعلقان بالفعل «نُكُرٍ» صفة شيء.
