وَلَقَدْ أَنذَرَهُم بَطْشَتَنَا فَتَمَارَوْا بِالنُّذُرِ
Walaqad antharahum batshatana fatamaraw bialnnuthuri

And (Lut) did warn them of Our Punishment, but they disputed about the Warning.

Tafsir Ibn Kathir
نِعْمَةً مِّنْ عِندِنَا ...
As a favor from Us.
Allah said,
... كَذَلِكَ نَجْزِي مَن شَكَرَ ﴿٣٥﴾
وَلَقَدْ أَنذَرَهُم بَطْشَتَنَا ...
Thus do We reward him who gives thanks. And he indeed had warned them of Our punishment,
meaning, before the torment struck his people, he warned them of Allah's torment and punishment. They did not heed the warning, nor listen to Lut,
... فَتَمَارَوْا بِالنُّذُرِ﴿٣٦﴾
but they doubted the warnings!
i.e. but instead doubted and disputed the warning.

أي ولقد كان قبل حلول العذاب بهم قد أنذرهم بأس الله وعذابه فما التفتوا إلى ذلك ولا أصغوا إليه بل شكوا فيه وتماروا به .

"ولقد أنذرهم" خوفهم لوط "بطشتنا" أخذتنا إياهم بالعذاب "فتماروا" تجادلوا وكذبوا "بالنذر" بإنذاره

«وَلَقَدْ» انظر الآية - 4 - ، «أَنْذَرَهُمْ» ماض ومفعوله والفاعل مستتر «بَطْشَتَنا» مفعول به ثان والجملة جواب القسم لا محل لها «فَتَمارَوْا» ماض وفاعله «بِالنُّذُرِ» متعلقان بالفعل والجملة معطوفة على ما قبلها.
