ذَلِكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَفْرَحُونَ فِي الْأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ الْحَقِّ وَبِمَا كُنتُمْ تَمْرَحُونَ
Thalikum bima kuntum tafrahoona fee alardi bighayri alhaqqi wabima kuntum tamrahoona

"That was because ye were wont to rejoice on the earth in things other than the Truth, and that ye were wont to be insolent.

Tafsir Ibn Kathir
ذَلِكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَفْرَحُونَ فِي الْأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ الْحَقِّ وَبِمَا كُنتُمْ تَمْرَحُونَ ﴿٧٥﴾
That was because you had been exulting in the earth without any right, and that you used to rejoice extremely.
means, the angels will say to them, `what you are suffering now is your recompense for your exulting in the earth without any right, and for your extravagance.'

أي تقول لهم الملائكة هذا الذي أنتم فيه جزاء على فرحكم في الدنيا بغير الحق ومرحكم وأشركم وبطركم .

ويقال لهم أيضا "ذلكم" العذاب "بما كنتم تفرحون في الأرض بغير الحق" من الإشراك وإنكار البعث "وبما كنتم تمرحون" تتوسعون في الفرح
