فَأَذَاقَهُمُ اللَّهُ الْخِزْيَ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَلَعَذَابُ الْآخِرَةِ أَكْبَرُ لَوْ كَانُوا يَعْلَمُونَ

So Allah gave them a taste of humiliation in the present life, but greater is the punishment of the Hereafter, if they only knew!

Tafsir Ibn Kathir
فَأَذَاقَهُمُ اللَّهُ الْخِزْيَ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا ...
So Allah made them to taste the disgrace in the present life,
means, by means of the punishment and revenge which He sent down upon them, and the rejoicing of the believers for what happened to them. So, let those who are addressed beware, for they have rejected the noblest of the Messengers and the Seal of the Prophets. And what Allah has promised them of severe punishment in the Hereafter is worse than whatever befell them in this world.
Allah says:
... وَلَعَذَابُ الْآخِرَةِ أَكْبَرُ لَوْ كَانُوا يَعْلَمُونَ ﴿٢٦﴾
but greater is the torment of the Hereafter if they only knew!
تفسير ابن كثير
وقوله جل وعلا " فأذاقهم الله الخزي في الحياة الدنيا " أي بما أنزل بهم من العذاب والنكال وتشفي المؤمنين منهم فليحذر المخاطبون من ذلك فإنهم قد كذبوا أشرف الرسل وخاتم الأنبياء صلى الله عليه وسلم والذي أعده الله جل جلاله لهم في الآخرة من العذاب الشديد أعظم مما أصابهم في الدنيا ولهذا قال عز وجل " ولعذاب الآخرة أكبر لو كانوا يعلمون " .
تفسير الجلالين
"فأذاقهم الله الخزي" الذل والهوان من المسخ والقتل وغيره "في الحياة الدنيا ولعذاب الآخرة أكبر لو كانوا" أي المكذبون "يعلمون" عذابها ما كذبوا
تفسير القرطبي
قال المبرد : يقال لكل ما نال الجارحة من شيء قد ذاقته , أي وصل إليها كما تصل الحلاوة والمرارة إلى الذائق لهما . قال : والخزي من المكروه والخزاية من الاستحياء
