فَاعْبُدُوا مَا شِئْتُم مِّن دُونِهِ قُلْ إِنَّ الْخَاسِرِينَ الَّذِينَ خَسِرُوا أَنفُسَهُمْ وَأَهْلِيهِمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ أَلَا ذَلِكَ هُوَ الْخُسْرَانُ الْمُبِينُ

"Serve ye what ye will besides him." Say: "Truly, those in loss are those who lose their own souls and their People on the Day of Judgment: Ah! that is indeed the (real and) evident Loss!

Tafsir Ibn Kathir
قُلِ اللَّهَ أَعْبُدُ مُخْلِصًا لَّهُ دِينِي ﴿١٤﴾
فَاعْبُدُوا مَا شِئْتُم مِّن دُونِهِ ...
Say:
"Allah Alone I worship by doing religious deeds sincerely for His sake only. So, worship what you like besides Him.''
This is also a threat, and a disowning of them.
... قُلْ إِنَّ الْخَاسِرِينَ ...
Say: "The losers...''
means, the greatest losers of all,
... الَّذِينَ خَسِرُوا أَنفُسَهُمْ وَأَهْلِيهِمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ...
are those who will lose themselves and their families on the Day of Resurrection.
means, they will be separated and will never meet again, whether their families have gone to Paradise and they have gone to Hell, or all of them have gone to Hell, they will never meet or feel happiness again.
... أَلَا ذَلِكَ هُوَ الْخُسْرَانُ الْمُبِينُ ﴿١٥﴾
Verily, that will be a manifest loss!
means, this is the clearest and most obvious loss.
Then He describes their state in the Fire:
تفسير ابن كثير
" قل إن الخاسرين " أي إنما الخاسرون كل الخسران " الذين خسروا أنفسهم وأهليهم يوم القيامة " أي تفارقوا فلا التقاء لهم أبدا وسواء ذهب أهلوهم إلى الجنة وقد ذهبوا هم إلى النار أو أن الجميع أسكنوا النار ولكن لا اجتماع لهم ولا سرور " ألا ذلك هو الخسران المبين " أي هذا هو الخسران المبين الظاهر الواضح .
تفسير الجلالين
"فاعبدوا ما شئتم من دونه" غيره فيه تهديد لهم وإيذان بأنهم لا يعبدون الله تعالى "قل إن الخاسرين الذين خسروا أنفسهم وأهليهم يوم القيامة" بتخليد الأنفس في النار وبعدم وصولهم إلى الحور المعدة لهم في الجنة لو آمنوا "ألا ذلك هو الخسران المبين" البين
تفسير القرطبي
أمر تهديد ووعيد وتوبيخ ; كقوله تعالى : " اعملوا ما شئتم " [ فصلت : 40 ] . وقيل : منسوخة بآية السيف .
