وَاتَّخَذُوا مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ آلِهَةً لَعَلَّهُمْ يُنصَرُونَ
Waittakhathoo min dooni Allahi alihatan laAAallahum yunsaroona

Yet they take (for worship) gods other than Allah, (hoping) that they might be helped!

Tafsir Ibn Kathir
The gods of the Idolators are not able to help Them
Allah tells:
وَاتَّخَذُوا مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ آلِهَةً لَعَلَّهُمْ يُنصَرُونَ ﴿٧٤﴾
And they have taken besides Allah, gods, hoping that they might be helped.
Allah denounces the idolators for taking the idols as gods alongside Allah, hoping that those gods will help them and provide for them and bring them closer to Allah.
تفسير ابن كثير
يقول تعالى منكرا على المشركين في اتخاذهم الأنداد آلهة مع الله يبتغون بذلك أن تنصرهم تلك الآلهة وترزقهم وتقربهم إلى الله زلفى .
تفسير الجلالين
"واتخذوا من دون الله" أي غيره "آلهة" أصناما يعبدونها "لعلهم ينصرون" يمنعون من عذاب الله تعالى بشفاعة آلهتهم بزعمهم
تفسير القرطبي
أي قد رأوا هذه الآيات من قدرتنا , ثم اتخذوا من دوننا آلهة لا قدرة لها على فعل .

«وَاتَّخَذُوا» الواو حرف عطف واتخذوا فعل ماض وفاعله والجملة معطوفة على ما قبلها لا محل لها «مِنْ دُونِ» متعلقان باتخذوا «اللَّهِ» لفظ الجلالة مضاف إليه «آلِهَةً» مفعول به أول «لَعَلَّهُمْ» لعل واسمها والجملة تعليل للاتخاذ «يُنْصَرُونَ» مضارع مبني للمجهول مرفوع والواو نائب فاعل والجملة خبر
