How the Believers were tested, and the Position of the Hypocrites during the Battle of Al-Khandaq
Allah tells,
هُنَالِكَ ابْتُلِيَ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَزُلْزِلُوا زِلْزَالًا شَدِيدًا ﴿١١﴾
There, the believers were tried and shaken with a mighty shaking.
Allah tells us what happened when the Confederates surrounded Al-Madinah and the Muslims were besieged and found themselves in straitened circumstances, with the Messenger of Allah in their midst. They were tried and tested, and were shaken with a mighty shaking. At this time hypocrisy emerged, and those in whose hearts was a disease spoke about what they really felt.
تفسير ابن كثير
يقول تعالى مخبرا عن ذلك الحال حين نزل الأحزاب حول المدينة والمسلمون محصورون في غاية الجهد والضيق ورسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم بين أظهرهم إنهم ابتلوا واختبروا وزلزلوا زلزالا شديدا فحينئذ ظهر النفاق وتكلم الذين في قلوبهم مرض بما في أنفسهم .
تفسير الجلالين
"هنالك ابتلي المؤمنون" اختبروا ليتبين المخلص من غيره "وزلزلوا" حركوا "زلزالا شديدا" من شدة الفزع
تفسير القرطبي
" هنا " للقريب من المكان . و " هنالك " للبعيد . و " هناك " للوسط . ويشار به إلى الوقت ; أي عند ذلك اختبر المؤمنون ليتبين المخلص من المنافق . وكان هذا الابتلاء بالخوف والقتال والجوع والحصر والنزال .

«هُنالِكَ» اسم إشارة في محل نصب على الظرفية الزمانية «ابْتُلِيَ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ» ماض مبني للمجهول ونائب فاعل والجملة مستأنفة لا محل لها. «وَزُلْزِلُوا» ماض مبني للمجهول والواو نائب فاعل «زِلْزالًا» مفعول مطلق «شَدِيداً» صفة والجملة معطوفة على ما قبلها
