بَلْ نَقْذِفُ بِالْحَقِّ عَلَى الْبَاطِلِ فَيَدْمَغُهُ فَإِذَا هُوَ زَاهِقٌ وَلَكُمُ الْوَيْلُ مِمَّا تَصِفُونَ
Bal naqthifu bialhaqqi AAala albatili fayadmaghuhu faitha huwa zahiqun walakumu alwaylu mimma tasifoona

Nay, We hurl the Truth against falsehood, and it knocks out its brain, and behold, falsehood doth perish! Ah! woe be to you for the (false) things ye ascribe (to Us).

Tafsir Ibn Kathir
بَلْ نَقْذِفُ بِالْحَقِّ عَلَى الْبَاطِلِ ...
Nay, We fling the truth against the falsehood,
means, `We explain the truth and thus defeat falsehood.'
Allah says:
... فَيَدْمَغُهُ فَإِذَا هُوَ زَاهِقٌ ...
so it destroys it, and behold, it disappears.
it is fading and vanishing.
... وَلَكُمُ الْوَيْلُ ...
And woe to you!
O you who say that Allah has offspring.
... مِمَّا تَصِفُونَ ﴿١٨﴾
for that which you ascribe.
that which you say and fabricate.
Then Allah informs of the servitude of the angels, and how they persevere in worship night and day:
تفسير ابن كثير
وقوله " بل نقذف بالحق على الباطل " أي نبين الحق فيدحض الباطل ولهذا قال " فيدمغه فإذ هو زاهق " أي ذاهب مضمحل" ولكم الويل " أي أيها القاتلون لله ولد " مما تصفون " أي تقولون وتفترون ثم أخبر تعالى عن عبودية الملائكة له ودأبهم في طاعته ليلا ونهارا .
تفسير الجلالين
"بل نقذف" نرمي "بالحق" الإيمان "على الباطل" الكفر "فيدمغه" يذهبه "فإذا هو زاهق" ذاهب ودمغه في الأصل : أصاب دماغه بالضرب وهو مقتل "ولكم" يا كفار مكة "الويل" العذاب الشديد "مما تصفون" الله به من الزوجة أو الولد
تفسير القرطبي
القذف الرمي ; أي نرمي بالحق على الباطل .
