Tafsir Ibn Kathir
قَالَ إِنَّمَا أَنَا رَسُولُ رَبِّكِ ...
He said: "I am only a messenger from your Lord...''
This means that the angel said to her in response, and in order to remove the fear that she felt within herself, "I am not what you think, but I am the messenger of your Lord.'' By this he meant, "Allah has sent me to you.''
It is said that when she mentioned the (Name of the) Most Beneficent (Ar-Rahman), Jibril fell apart and returned to his true form (as an angel). He responded,
... إِنَّمَا أَنَا رَسُولُ رَبِّكِ لِأَهَبَ لَكِ غُلَامًا زَكِيًّا ﴿١٩﴾
`I am only a messenger from your Lord, to provide to you the gift of a righteous son.'
تفسير ابن كثير
وقال " إنما أنا رسول ربك ليهب لك غلاما زكيا " هكذا قرأ أبو عمرو بن العلاء أحد مشهوري القراء وقرأ الآخرون " لأهب لك غلاما زكيا " وكلا القراءتين له وجه حسن ومعنى صحيح وكل تستلزم الأخرى .

"قال إنما أنا رسول ربك لأهب لك غلاما زكيا" بالنبوة
تفسير القرطبي
جعل الهبة من قبله لما كان الإعلام بها من قبله . وقرأ ورش عن نافع " ليهب لك " على معنى أرسلني الله ليهب لك . وقيل : معنى " لأهب " بالهمز محمول على المعنى ; أي قال : أرسلته لأهب لك . ويحتمل " ليهب " بلا همز أن يكون بمعنى المهموز ثم خففت الهمزة . فلما سمعت مريم ذلك من قوله استفهمت عن طريقه .
