Illa ibtighaa wajhi rabbihi alaAAla

Tafsir Ibn Kathir
إِلَّا ابْتِغَاء وَجْهِ رَبِّهِ الْأَعْلَى ﴿٢٠﴾
to seek the Face of his Lord, the Most High.
meaning, hoping to attain the blessing of seeing Him in the final abode in the Gardens of Paradise.
تفسير ابن كثير
" ابتغاء وجه ربه الأعلى " أي طمعا في أن يحصل له رؤيته في الدار الآخرة في روضات الجنات .
تفسير الجلالين
" إلا " لكن فعل ذلك " ابتغاء وجه ربه الأعلى " أي طلب ثواب الله
تفسير القرطبي
أي مرضاته وما يقرب منه . و " الأعلى " من نعت الرب الذي استحق صفات العلو . ويجوز أن يكون " ابتغاء وجه ربه " مفعولا له على المعنى ; لأن معنى الكلام : لا يؤتي ماله إلا ابتغاء وجه ربه , لا لمكافأة نعمته .
