مَن يَهْدِ اللّهُ فَهُوَ الْمُهْتَدِي وَمَن يُضْلِلْ فَأُوْلَـئِكَ هُمُ الْخَاسِرُونَ
Man yahdi Allahu fahuwa almuhtadee waman yudlil faolaika humu alkhasiroona

Whom Allah doth guide,- he is on the right path: whom He rejects from His guidance,- such are the persons who perish.

Tafsir Ibn Kathir
Allah says,
مَن يَهْدِ اللّهُ فَهُوَ الْمُهْتَدِي وَمَن يُضْلِلْ فَأُوْلَـئِكَ هُمُ الْخَاسِرُونَ ﴿١٧٨﴾
Whomsoever Allah guides, he is the guided one, and whomsoever He sends astray, -- then those! They are the losers
Allah says, whomever He leads aright, then none can lead him to misguidance, and whomever He leads astray, will have acquired failure, loss and sure misguidance. Verily, whatever Allah wills occurs; and whatever He does not will, does not occur.
A Hadith narrated from Abdullah bin Mas`ud reads,
إِنَّ الْحَمْدَ للهِ نَحْمَدُهُ وَنَسْتَعِينُهُ وَنَسْتَهْدِيهِ وَنَسْتَغْفِرُهُ وَنَعُوذُ بِاللهِ مِنْ شُرُورِ أَنْفُسِنَا وَمِنْ سَيِّئَاتِ أَعْمَالِنَا، مَنْ يَهْدِ اللهُ فَلَا مُضِلَّ لَهُ وَمَنْ يُضْلِلِ اللهُ فَلَا هَادِيَ لَهُ، وَأَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُه
All praise is due to Allah, Whom we praise and seek help, guidance and forgiveness from. We seek refuge with Allah from the evils within ourselves and from the burden of our evil deeds. He whom Allah guides, will never be misled; and he whom He misguides, will never have one who will guide him. I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah without partners and that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger.

تفسير ابن كثير
يقول تعالى من هداه الله فإنه لا مضل له ومن أضله فقد خاب وخسر وضل لا محالة فإنه تعالى ما شاء كان وما لم يشأ لم يكن ولهذا جاء في حديث ابن مسعود : " إن الحمد لله نحمده ونستعينه ونستهديه ونستغفره ونعوذ بالله من شرور أنفسنا ومن سيئات أعمالنا من يهد الله فلا مضل له ومن يضلل فلا هادي له وأشهد أن لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له وأشهد أن محمدا عبده ورسوله " الحديث بتمامه رواه الإمام أحمد وأهل السنن وغيرهم .
تفسير القرطبي
تقدم معناه في غير موضع وهذه الآية ترد على القدرية كما سبق , وترد على من قال إن الله تعالى هدى جميع المكلفين ولا يجوز أن يضل أحدا .
إعراب — grammatical analysis
«مَنْ» اسم شرط جازم في محل رفع مبتدأ.
«يَهْدِ» مضارع مجزوم وعلامة جزمه حذف الياء لأنه معتل الآخر ، وهو فعل الشرط ومفعوله محذوف أي يهده و«اللَّهُ» لفظ الجلالة فاعله.
«فَهُوَ» الفاء رابطة للجواب وهو ضمير رفع في محل رفع مبتدأ.
«الْمُهْتَدِي» خبر مرفوع وعلامة رفعه الضمة المقدرة على الياء للثقل ، والجملة في محل جزم جواب الشرط. وجملتا الشرط والجواب خبر من.
«وَمَنْ يُضْلِلْ» معطوف على ما سبق وإعرابه مثله.
«فَأُولئِكَ» الفاء رابطة للجواب واسم إشارة مبني على الكسر في محل رفع مبتدأ.
«هُمُ» ضمير فصل لا محل له أو ضمير منفصل في محل رفع مبتدأ.
«الْخاسِرُونَ» خبره وجملة هم الخاسرون خبر أولئك ، والجملة الاسمية في محل جزم جواب الشرط وجملتا الشرط والجواب خبر من.
