فَآتَاهُمُ اللّهُ ثَوَابَ الدُّنْيَا وَحُسْنَ ثَوَابِ الآخِرَةِ وَاللّهُ يُحِبُّ الْمُحْسِنِينَ

Tafsir Ibn Kathir
Therefore,
فَآتَاهُمُ اللّهُ ثَوَابَ الدُّنْيَا ...
So Allah gave them the reward of this world,
victory, triumph and the good end.
... وَحُسْنَ ثَوَابِ الآخِرَةِ ...
and the excellent reward of the Hereafter.
added to the gains in this life.
... وَاللّهُ يُحِبُّ الْمُحْسِنِينَ ﴿١٤٨﴾
And Allah loves the good-doers.
تفسير ابن كثير
أي النصر والظفر والعاقبة " وحسن ثواب الآخرة " أي جمع لهم ذلك مع هذا " والله يحب المحسنين " .
تفسير الجلالين
"فآتاهم الله ثواب الدنيا" النصر والغنيمة "وحسن ثواب الآخرة" أي الجنة وحسنه : التفضل فوق الاستحقاق
تفسير القرطبي
" فآتاهم الله " أي أعطاهم " ثواب الدنيا " , يعني النصر والظفر على عدوهم . " وحسن ثواب الآخرة " يعني الجنة . وقرأ الجحدري " فأثابهم الله " من الثواب . " والله يحب المحسنين " تقدم .
