وَلِيُمَحِّصَ اللّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ وَيَمْحَقَ الْكَافِرِينَ

ENTafsir Ibn Kathir
وَلِيُمَحِّصَ اللّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ ...
And Allah likes not the wrongdoers. And that Allah may test those who believe,
by forgiving them their sins if they have any. Otherwise, Allah will raise their grades according to the losses they suffered.
Allah's statement,
... وَيَمْحَقَ الْكَافِرِينَ ﴿١٤١﴾
and destroy the disbelievers.
for it is their conduct that if they gain the upper hand, they transgress and commit aggression. However, this conduct only leads to ultimate destruction, extermination, perishing and dying out.
Allah then said,
ARتفسير ابن كثير
أي يكفر عنهم من ذنوبهم إن كانت لهم ذنوب وإلا رفع لهم في درجاتهم بحسب ما أصيبوا به. وقوله " ويمحق الكافرين " أي فإنهم إذا ظفروا بغوا وبطروا فيكون ذلك سبب دمارهم وهلاكهم ومحقهم وفنائهم .

"وليمحص الله الذين آمنوا" يطهرهم من الذنوب بما يصيبهم "ويمحق" يهلك

فيه ثلاثة أقوال : يمحص : يختبر . الثاني : يطهر ; أي من ذنوبهم فهو على حذف مضاف . المعنى : وليمحص الله ذنوب الذين آمنوا ; قال الفراء . الثالث : يمحص يخلص ; فهذا أغربها . قال الخليل : يقال محص الحبل يمحص محصا إذا انقطع وبره ; ومنه ( اللهم محص عنا ذنوبنا ) أي خلصنا من عقوبتها . وقال أبو إسحاق الزجاج : قرأت على محمد بن يزيد عن الخليل : التمحيص التخليص . يقال : محصه يمحصه محصا إذا خلصه ; فالمعنى عليه ليبتلي المؤمنين ليثيبهم ويخلصهم من ذنوبهم . " ويمحق الكافرين " أي يستأصلهم بالهلاك .
ARإعراب — grammatical analysis
«وَلِيُمَحِّصَ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ» فعل مضارع منصوب بأن المضمرة بعد لام التعليل ولفظ الجلالة فاعله واسم الموصول مفعوله والجملة معطوفة وجملة «آمَنُوا» صلة الموصول وجملة.
«وَيَمْحَقَ الْكافِرِينَ» معطوفة على وليمحص.
