وَيَقُولُونَ أَئِنَّا لَتَارِكُوا آلِهَتِنَا لِشَاعِرٍ مَّجْنُونٍ

Tafsir Ibn Kathir
وَيَقُولُونَ أَئِنَّا لَتَارِكُوا آلِهَتِنَا لِشَاعِرٍ مَّجْنُونٍ ﴿٣٦﴾
Truly, when it was said to them: "La ilaha illallah,'' they puffed themselves up with pride. And (they) said: "Are we going to abandon our gods for the sake of a mad poet!''
meaning, `Shall we stop worshipping our gods and the gods of our forefathers just because of the words of this mad poet' -- meaning the Messenger of Allah.
تفسير ابن كثير
أي أنحن نترك عبادة آلهتنا وآلهة آبائنا عن قول هذا الشاعر المجنون يعنون رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم .

"ويقولون أإنا" في همزتيه ما تقدم "لتاركوا آلهتنا لشاعر مجنون" أي لأجل محمد

أي لقول شاعر مجنون ; فرد الله جل وعز عليهم فقال :
