فَلَمَّا تَرَاءى الْجَمْعَانِ قَالَ أَصْحَابُ مُوسَى إِنَّا لَمُدْرَكُونَ

Tafsir Ibn Kathir
فَلَمَّا تَرَاءى الْجَمْعَانِ ...
And when the two hosts saw each other,
means, each group saw the other.
At that point,
... قَالَ أَصْحَابُ مُوسَى إِنَّا لَمُدْرَكُونَ ﴿٦١﴾
the companions of Musa said: "We are sure to be overtaken.''
This was because Fir`awn and his people caught up with them on the shores of the Red Sea, so the sea was ahead of them and Fir`awn and his troops were behind them. Hence they said: إِنَّا لَمُدْرَكُونَ (We are sure to be overtaken).
تفسير ابن كثير
" فلما تراءى الجمعان " أي رأى كل من الفريقين صاحبه فعند ذلك " قال أصحاب موسى إنا لمدركون" وذلك أنهم انتهى بهم السير إلى سيف البحر وهو بحر القلزم فصار أمامهم البحر وقد أدركهم فرعون بجنوده .
تفسير الجلالين
"فلما تراءى الجمعان" رأى كل منهما الآخر "قال أصحاب موسى إنا لمدركون" يدركنا جمع فرعون ولا طاقة لنا به
تفسير القرطبي
أي تقابلا الجمعان بحيث يرى كل فريق صاحبه ; وهو تفاعل من الرؤية .

«فَلَمَّا» الفاء عاطفة ولما ظرفية شرطية غير جازمة «تَراءَا الْجَمْعانِ» ماض وفاعله والجملة مضاف إليه «قالَ أَصْحابُ» ماض وفاعل والجملة لا محل لها لأنها جواب الشرط «مُوسى » مضاف إليه «إِنَّا لَمُدْرَكُونَ» إن واسمها وخبرها واللام المزحلقة والجملة مقول القول
