فَتَنَازَعُوا أَمْرَهُم بَيْنَهُمْ وَأَسَرُّوا النَّجْوَى
FatanazaAAoo amrahum baynahum waasarroo alnnajwa

So they disputed, one with another, over their affair, but they kept their talk secret.

Tafsir Ibn Kathir
فَتَنَازَعُوا أَمْرَهُم بَيْنَهُمْ ...
"...And surely, he who invents a lie will fail miserably.'' Then they debated one with another what they must do,
It has been said that this means that they argued among themselves. So one of them said, "This is not the speech of a magician, but it is the speech of a Prophet.''
Another said, "No, he is only a magician.''
There are other opinions that have been mentioned about what they discussed. And Allah knows best.
Allah's statement,
... وَأَسَرُّوا النَّجْوَى ﴿٦٢﴾
and they kept their talk secret.
means, they held secret counsel among themselves about this matter.
تفسير ابن كثير
قيل معناه أنهم تشاجروا فيما بينهم فقائل يقول ليس هذا بكلام ساحر إنما هذا كلام نبي وقائل يقول بل هو ساحر وقيل غير هذا والله أعلم . وقوله " وأسروا النجوى " أي تناجوا فيما بينهم .
تفسير الجلالين
"فتنازعوا أمرهم بينهم" في موسى وأخيه "وأسروا النجوى" أي الكلام بينهم فيهما

أي تشاوروا ; يريد السحرة .

«فَتَنازَعُوا» الفاء عاطفة وماض مبني على الضم والواو فاعل «أَمْرَهُمْ» مفعول به والهاء مضاف إليه «بَيْنَهُمْ» ظرف متعلق بمحذوف حال والهاء مضاف إليه والجملة معطوفة «وَأَسَرُّوا» الواو عاطفة والجملة معطوفة «النَّجْوى » مفعول به منصوب بالفتحة المقدرة
