3:126 وَمَا جَعَلَهُ اللّهُ إِلاَّ بُشْرَى لَكُمْ وَلِتَطْمَئِنَّ قُلُوبُكُم بِهِ وَمَا النَّصْرُ إِلاَّ مِنْ عِندِ اللّهِ الْعَزِيزِ الْحَكِيمِ Allah made it but a message of hope for you, and an assurance to your hearts: (in any case) there is no help except from Allah. The Exalted, the Wise: 3:127 لِيَقْطَعَ طَرَفاً مِّنَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ أَوْ يَكْبِتَهُمْ فَيَنقَلِبُواْ خَآئِبِينَ That He might cut off a fringe of the Unbelievers or expose them to infamy, and they should then be turned back, frustrated of their purpose. 7:119 فَغُلِبُواْ هُنَالِكَ وَانقَلَبُواْ صَاغِرِينَ So the (great ones) were vanquished there and then, and were made to look small. 30:2 غُلِبَتِ الرُّومُ The Roman Empire has been defeated- 30:3 فِي أَدْنَى الْأَرْضِ وَهُم مِّن بَعْدِ غَلَبِهِمْ سَيَغْلِبُونَ In a land close by; but they, (even) after (this) defeat of theirs, will soon be victorious-
